BDO Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage underrepresented students to join the accounting industry by providing financial assistance to remove barriers to earning a GVSU degree.

To qualify students must:
*be accepted for or currently enrolled at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) as an incoming first-year student
*be from an underrepresented group as identified in the essay question
*be meeting satisfactory academic progress (https://www.gvsu.edu/financialaid/satisfactory-academic-progress-sap-17.htm)

Preference will be given to students majoring in Accounting who are currently or were previously involved in the West Michigan Accounting Awareness Initiative.

Financial need shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

This scholarship may be renewed without reapplication provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. This scholarship may be awarded to an individual for a maximum of eight semesters
