Trooper Raymond Hoffman Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to help widen the pathway to graduation for criminal justice students from middle income families who do not qualify for federal need-based aid and are ineligible for many of the government programs intended to help defray the costs of tuition and fees. Support from the GVSU community will impact the University’s highest priority and help students from middle income families to avoid indebtedness, achieve their goals, and become fully engaged citizens.

To be eligible for this scholarship students must:

  • Be been accepted for or currently enrolled at GVSU
  • Be in one of their final two years at Grand Valley (junior or senior)
  • Major in criminal justice
  • Have a GPA of a 3.2 or greater
  • Preference will be given to applicants from Allegan County, Michigan or Flat Rock High School in Michigan.

Financial need shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Renewal Criteria: May be renewed with reapplication.
