Center for Women and Gender Equity Non-Traditional Scholarship
The original intent of this scholarship was to help women both financially and in defining their academic and life goals. In light of the Michigan law that went into effect in 2006 the scholarship document was revised and designated to benefit non-traditional students with unique pathways to education.
- Candidates must be non-traditional degree-seeking students. Non-traditional describes students with unique pathways to education including child/family responsibilities, re-entry to college after some significant time away, or exceptional life circumstance due to employment or other challenges.
- May be entering any university level, undergraduate or graduate.
- Candidates shall be enrolled part-time or full-time as degree seeking students
- Recipients shall be making satisfactory academic progress
- Must demonstrate financial need

- Please attach a one-page essay describing this unique pathway to education and how you will benefit from this scholarship. Remember that the Committee will read many essays, and you must make them understand why you should receive a scholarship. Your essay will weigh heavily in their decision.
