Anonymous Geology/Earth Science Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to promote and encourage careers in Geology and Earth Sciences and assist first generation college students and students from underrepresented groups with the costs of their education at Grand Valley State University (GVSU).

Recipients of this scholarship must:
*be accepted for or currently enrolled at Grand Valley State University (GVSU)
*be an undergraduate enrolled for 12 credit hours or more in the Geology or Earth Science major
*have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA in high school, or a cumulative Transfer or GVSU grade point average of 2.5 or greater
*be meeting satisfactory academic progress (https://www.gvsu.edu/financialaid/satisfactory-academic-progress-sap-17.htm)

Preference will be given to candidates who are the first in their family to earn a four year degree (First Generation) and/or be a member of underrepresented groups in the fields of Geology or Earth Science

Financial need is considered but not required and will be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Renewal Criteria: This scholarship may be renewed without reapplication for a maximum of 10 semesters provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications stated above.
