Bill '73 and Jan Anway Athletic Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to annually award a scholarship to any current or former (who have exhausted eligibility) GVSU student-athletes who are majoring in education. This scholarship will cover courses taken in the semester(s) that will not interfere with the players’ athletic program eligibility, including fall, winter or spring/summer semesters, and will assist with degree completion.

To qualify for this scholarship, students must:

• Be accepted for or currently enrolled at GVSU
• Be an undergraduate student enrolled for 3 credit hours or more in the College of Education
• Student should be making university Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
• First preference will be given to those who are/were football players, second preference to basketball players, third preference to any other Laker athlete, and fourth preference to a GVSU club sport participant

Financial need is required and shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Renewal criteria: This scholarship may be renewed without reapplication provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. This scholarship may be awarded to an individual for a maximum of 12 semesters so long as the recipient is on track to earn a degree in education within 6 years of first enrolling at GVSU.
