Steven E. Williams Memorial Pathways to Recovery Scholarship

This scholarship was created to encourage and assist students who have demonstrated success in their recovery. The Pathways to Recovery Scholarship is available for students who have demonstrated a commitment to recovery and sobriety. This scholarship is for recovering students, whether they are new to recovery or have a substantial period of abstinence that could benefit from support to maintain sobriety. Addiction treatment and recovery often leave students with financial burdens. This scholarship will reward and encourage students who demonstrate successful recovery behaviors and strategies.

  • Recipients for this scholarship shall have been accepted for or currently enrolled at GVSU
  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student
  • Enrolled with full time student status in any course of study
  • Shall be making satisfactory academic progress according to the norms established by the University

Financial need may be considered, not required, and shall be demonstrated by the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Renewal Criteria: This scholarship may be renewed with reapplication provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications stated above. This scholarship may be awarded to an individual for a maximum of 10 semesters.
