Pioneer Class of 1967

Pioneer Class of 1967

The Pioneer Class of 1967 of Grand Valley State University (GVSU) established a scholarship to continue their legacy and instill a “Pioneering Spirit” in future students for years to come. The Pioneer Class took a leap of faith by enrolling in the newly formed Grand Valley State College that opened in 1963, because they had a vision for what Grand Valley would become and the innovation that would happen on campus and in the classroom. They are the foundation on which this great University was built, and many of them continued to be involved in the growth and success of Grand Valley through their professions and their service in leadership roles as alumni and in their communities.

Impact

“I hope to be an Electrical Engineering Major with a Music Minor. As of this moment, I cannot tell you what my impact on the world will be, but I can tell you that because of this scholarship, I will build towards that unknown goal in a pioneering spirit.” -Nicholas Hudgins, Sophomore
