This scholarship is created to benefit students in Seidman College of Business and to honor Mr. J.C. Huizenga, a loyal West Michigan resident, successful entrepreneur, and respected businessman.

Mr. Huizenga has distinguished himself through numerous successful investments of his time, skill and resources. These investments in ideas, people, initiatives, and opportunities have resulted in change and improvement on many fronts and at high levels.

His visionary application of original thinking in education and his wise investments in commercial enterprises set him apart from many others. His stated and adopted business principles, his personal values including patience and perseverance, his ability to adapt to change, and his hands-on leadership style set him apart from other successful individuals.

John C. (“J.C.”) Huizenga was raised in the Chicago, Illinois area and moved to Holland, Michigan where he attended and graduated from Hope College. A man of tireless energy, he stands before future Grand Valley State University students as a model of faith, integrity, principle, vision, loyalty, clarity of purpose and sound values.

Impact
