The Michael F. Young ’90, ’94 Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Michael f. Young to continue his legacy of leadership in Rockford, Michigan. Michael earned both his bachelors and masters degrees in Public Administration, and was a member of the wrestling team at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). Michael was well known and respected for his work as the longtime City Manager for Rockford, where the thriving downtown reflects the efforts he led to improve the community over the past 20 years. Remembered as a passionate, dedicated, and respected city leader, Michael was a visionary who worked tirelessly to make Rockford a better place to live, work and play.
